How would you feel on your first day home alone after having company for 7 whole weeks? This picture pretty much sums up how Arden and I feel today! Or maybe it doesn't since you can't really tell how we feel from the picture since it could probably be interpreted in many different ways! So how about I tell you how we feel...Anywho, like I said, today is the first day since Arden was born for me to be home alone with him. Things are going pretty good so far! He's been taking good naps today allowing me to work out and get dressed and have time to post some pictures and blog about it! I've really enjoyed all of our company but I am definitely glad that we get to start some sort of a routine now. Arden is still not sleeping much at night so I'm still up multiple times a night to feed him or calm him, so it is good that I can take a nap now whenever I want and not have to feel bad for not entertaining our guests. (ok ok not that you all needed entertainment but it's hard to nap when you have guests around that you want to hang out with!) I do feel a bit retarded as a mom though, because half of the time I really just don't know what to do with the kid! I can change diapers and feed him and put him down for a nap like a pro, but when it comes to entertainment, I'm at a loss. I know babies don't really need much to entertain them but sometimes I just find myself staring at him in silence and then I feel socially retarded...yes..with my infant. So what has he been doing you may wonder? Well he likes to stare at "his pictures" on the wall and talk to them. He also likes to lie on the floor and watch the blinds moving with a fan blowing on them. He falls asleep in his swing so we try to avoid that unless necessary. We listen to music and take pictures or we just look at each other. In the mornings we take Molly Bear for a walk and he rides in his Baby Bjorn, which also puts him to sleep. That's about it for now, if you have an activity suggestions for a 7 week old, be sure to let me know!

that picture is priceless! i love it!
I miss that buddy...look at him!
I miss him and his mom, too!
As far as activities, just talk to him. You will soon realize that you are basically narrating your whole life (like "Mommy's going to the potty" etc), but you will end up with kids who can express themselves in a blog like nobody else!!!
Mom and I would read to you. Read out loud what you are interested in not just baby books. but all kind of things. The bible, instruction manuals, novels, short stories, readers digest.
I love you.
Dad
