"Excuse me...."
"Excuse me...leave your dog away from here...leave your dog away from here....shame on you." This is what I heard coming from some apartment this morning as I was walking Molly. I'm sorry, but no, no shame on me for walking my dog in an apartment complex that allows dogs. Now I understand that people don't want dog poop all around their apartment, I don't either. However, what this woman obviously failed to see was that A) I was carrying a doggie poop bag and would pick up any poop that Molly dropped and B) Her apartment is right next to a doggie poop bag station where it is convenient to let your dog poop and then grab a bag if you don't already have one. I am very good at picking up the poop and do it on a daily basis so it just really bothered me that the woman said "shame on you" for just being near her apartment with my dog. Besides, who says "shame on you" to an adult, anyway? I felt like I was five years old and getting in trouble from this voice (by the way, I couldn't even see the woman and pretty much ignored her and kept walking). Even still I want to go back and say, no, lady, I feel no shame because I have done nothing wrong, my dog can poop wherever she pleases and I'll pick it up. I would have totally understood if it were her house and her yard, but it's not. She doesn't do the yardwork, she has no ownership over that patch of grass, and therefore has no right to tell me to "leave my dog away from here." I think I'll keep walking Molly over there anyway, but hopefully I won't get in trouble again!

Wow she sounds like a crazy old lady to me who isn't all that connected to reality. I would just ignore her.
