Coming Soon...

...to a bedroom near you! (or us at least) I think we are on the verge of getting Arden to sleep through the night. I have been worn completely out getting up every 3 hours to feed him and had had enough! I was reading our Secrets of the Baby Whisperer book and talking to some friends (thanks again Suzie and Elaine!) about how to get him to sleep longer at night and figured a few things out. Last night I fed Arden at 6, 8 and 10:30 and then went to bed. He woke up at 1:30 (like usual) but I was able to get him right back to sleep by just giving him his paci rather than feeding him. He slept until 4 after this! I know that may not seem like much sleep to you - 5 1/2 hours - but in motherland, that's like sleeping all day! After I fed him at 4 he went back to sleep until about 6:30. I fed him around 7 and then we went for a walk and then he went back to sleep for about an hour (and I did too!). SO, we're working on it, but I'm hoping to get a full night's sleep in the very near future! We'll see!
.
I went for my 6 week post partum check up yesterday and the doctor said everything was looking good and that I was all healed from my stitches. I still get a little sore if I've been busy throughout the day, but I am feeling pretty good. I get to start exercising again too! (hallelujah!) I've still got about 15 pounds to lose to get back to my prepregnancy weight, but I'd like to get down to my pre marriage weight, so I've got quite a ways to go, but at least I can work on it now. Arden went to the doctor last week and he weighed 9lbs 12oz, so I'm assuming he weighs over 10lbs now (at 6 weeks), which should help with the sleeping through the night thing as well. William has been pretty busy at work, but I think he's enjoying it. Emily, my sis, was here last week and we had a good time just hanging out, watching movies and playing with Arden. We went to Hollywood one afternoon to show her around (Arden went too and did fairly well). She left on Saturday morning and Emily Gray came on Sunday afternoon for this week. We're just hanging out and relaxing this week as well. Next week will be my first week since I had Arden to be home alone during the day. We'll see how it goes, but I think I'm ready for it. I am definitely ready to focus more on a schedule/routine for me and Arden to follow so that things don't feel quite so hectic and awkward, so being alone with him will be good for doing that. I will miss having someone to do things with throughout the day, but I'll manage!

I feel your pain. Even though she's not a week old, we already want Amelia to sleep through the night.
