The Weekend and Such

This past weekend William and I went on a retreat with the Southern California Reformed Fellowship group. Churches from all over southern California are offered the opportunity to come to this retreat and our church was one of the ones that went. It was in Wrightwood, CA at the Mount Kare Retreat Center (basically up in the mountains east of us). There were several other PCA churches represented along with some OPC and some other Reformed churches there. It was a smaller retreat with about 40 people there. Our group had about 15 people go. We were the largest group there. We rode with our friends, Dave and Kathy, and got there around 9pm on Friday night. There was a talk that night and then we all hung out and played games. Saturday morning, after breakfast, we had another talk and then a time for question and answers for the speaker. The speaker was Dr. Dennis Johnson. He is from California and is the dean of some school (don't remember exactly what he does). After lunch we had a lot of free time to just hang out and do whatever. William went hiking with a group and I went to the small town with a group where we just walked around and then hung out at a coffee shop where some live music was being played. That night there was another talk and then more game playing and hanging out. Sunday there was a more formal worship service and after lunch we headed home. It was a great weekend and we got to see some snow and experience a little bit of winter weather, which was nice considering it is February.
.
Sunday when we got back we stayed at the Kaiser's for a Super Bowl party. It was fun to hang out and eat the good food with everyone even though we didn't really care about the game. Everyone there was for the Steelers, so we were glad for them that they won!
Today I had a doctor's appointment to check on the babe. I'd gained 5 pounds which the doc said was good (it's hard to feel good about gaining weight!) making my total weight gain so far 12 pounds. Not too bad considering I'm halfway there and I have been told I should gain 25 to 30 pounds. She also said that everything was going along perfectly and his heart sounded great and everything. I asked her about flying home in April and she said it shouldn't be a problem as long as things keep progressing the way that they have. Pray that that is the case so that there won't be any problems with me flying home in April. I really want to be able to do that! Other than that, everything is pretty normal around here and I'm just enjoying a normal week at home with Molly Bear.
