A Day Out in Hollywood

Yesterday I drove into LA to meet my friends, Audrey and Amanda, at Urban Outfitters to start a day of jean shopping for all of us. I needed some new maternity jeans and the two of them just wanted new jeans. We met and shopped around Urban Outfitters for a little while and Audrey actually found a pair of jeans....one down, two to go. We then drove over to The Grove in Hollywood, which is a really big, nice outdoor mall. We sat down and had a little snack before continuing our jean search at Gap. All of the maternity clothes are really cute but really expensive, so I was glad to find some jeans that had been marked down from $78 to $23 that fit and I liked a lot. (As a side note: who really pays $78 for a pair of jeans or any pants that you can only wear for like 7 months? That's just ridiculous!) Amanda also found some jeans on sale at Gap, therefore making our jeans search a definite success for all of us! It was fun hanging out with the two of them for the afternoon and it was nice to just be out of the apartment. I must say though, Hollywood is definitely different than Simi Valley. Everywhere you go there are like a thousand people and there is always ridiculous traffic to get to where you want to go. Also, the parking situation is just dumb. I don't like driving anyway, but driving with SO many people out is really frustrating to me and really stresses me out. When I finally got home yesterday around 5pm, I was so thankful that we are living in Simi because it just feels normal and not so crowded. I wouldn't survive in a place that is that crowded for very long.
.
If I haven't told you already, we did finally register at BabiesRUs and you can view it online if you so desire. I am just about done adding all of the things that I want on there. It is very overwhelming thinking about all the things that a baby needs and I'm SURE that there are things that I'm overlooking or don't even know that I need. Crazy! On that note, baby shower season is about to start! My friends here are wanting to throw me a shower in March when Mom is here, which I'm really excited that she'll get to be here for that! Also, Emily Gray, Laura Fearnow, and Lindsey Coe (Hughes) are planning a shower for me when I go home in April around Easter. I'm really excited about both showers, but I have a feeling the one in Memphis will be a bit more exciting since I'll get to see everyone back home for the first time with a big pregnant belly! I have such good friends and am so thankful that they are willing to throw a shower for me! So fun!

Urban Outfitters...been there, done that got some awesome deals on the $9.99 rack.

The Grove..been there, done that, got an awesome chai latte at some coffee shop there.

I'm very mad at BabiesRUs right now...they made my afternoon very miserable while I was trying to get a gift for a shower I'm throwing tomorrow.
