A Friend Comes to Town

Yesterday I drove over to Hollywood (again) to meet Whitney (Rieves) Hale and her friend for lunch. Whitney was in CA visiting a college friend and gave me a call so that we could get together. We met at the Kodak Theater (where the Oscars are being held) that has a shopping center connected to it. After getting lost in the parking garage and barely being able to figure out how to get out of it and into the center, I met Whitney and her friend, Erin, for lunch at Johnny Rockets. We had a good lunch and enjoyed visiting and catching up. Afterwards, we went to Beard Papa's for a cream puff for dessert (yummy!). They had taken the subway from Orange County so they had to be on their way so they wouldn't miss their ride home! It was a short visit, but it was really good to see a familiar face and have something to do for the day (even though it required a 40 minute drive which is never fun in LA traffic). On my way back to the ever loving parking garage, I gave a wonderful display of grace to every onlooker around  by falling on the escalator. I'm still  not entirely sure what happened, but what I do know is I was going down, almost to the bottom, holding onto the rail, and the next thing I knew I had fallen down, still holding the rail mind you. My shoes were wet because it was rainy outside so that may have had something to do with it. It was as if my knees decided to bend down without my brain knowing it. My shoe fell off and I bruised and scraped my right knee and left heel, but I was able to stand up, put my shoe back on and casually step off the escalator just as I reached the bottom. It was quite funny, I'm sure, for any onlookers, but the only person that made a comment was the woman behind me who asked if I was alright - "I'm good, thanks!" I made it back to my car in one piece and back home to Simi Valley in the rain with no other problems or stories- thankfully!

I slipped on a step in the rain at that exact shopping center when i was there. weird! Was everything set up for the Oscars or was it too early for that to happen?

ouch. Yesterday we were driving and a (possibly homeless drunk) man started to run across the road and literally "tripped" over the double line and ate asphalt. then picked himself up and stumbled to the other side...not quite as graceful as yours.
p.s. my word verification word was "disers". where do they get those words?
