Oh the Joys of an Apartment

Living in California, we are known for our wonderful weather. This brings about many opportunities for fresh air and windows open. Usually this is very pleasant and it's nice to be able to keep our balcony door open so that Molly can go in and out as she pleases and we can let fresh air in. Well recently, our downstairs neighbor has decided to ruin that fresh air for us. Multiple times an hour, she likes to go out on her patio, smoke a cigarette and hack and gag afterwards. It is probably one of the most disgusting noises and smells one could experience (she's pregnant also, and you know it's good for the baby!). If I don't get the door shut in time, I'm stuck with our apartment smelling like a cheap hotel. On top of all of that, she likes to blare club remix music during the DAY! I mean who just listens to that as background noise or whatever she's doing?
Other than being annoyed with having to take Molly out on a leash every time she needs to go potty and missing having a yard and a driveway right outside, the apartment hasn't been too bad for us. However I have started becoming more aware of the noise, like the music and the yelling neighbor, because I'm wondering how I'll handle it when we have a baby that needs to be taking a nap but is rudely awoken by all that stuff. I guess we'll see..hopefully he'll be a heavy sleeper.
.
William is out of town as of yesterday morning. He flew to Washington for a business trip to meet with a company that makes one of their parts for their airplane. He'll get back later this evening and then is heading to Joshua Tree to go camping with Greg (our bro-in-law) and some other guys from AZ until Sunday.  As much as I don't like being alone, I think that I have actually started to grow up a little bit. I haven't experienced anxiety and freaking out like I usually have done in the past when I knew that I would have to be my myself for an extended period of time. I've actually enjoyed myself and have gotten some things done around the house. Today I'm going out to run several errands and look for some new pillows for our guest bed that will match the nursery to help tie the room all together. It's always fun looking for new decor! Saturday, if it doesn't rain, I'll probably take Molly Bear to the dog park and then am planning on hanging out with Courtney that night. All that to say, I'm making it just fine with William being gone, and even though I miss him, I can't say that I didn't enjoy taking up the entire king sized bed and all the pillows last night!!
