Seriously Clark?

William's truck arrived yesterday so we were able to go pick it up...well more like willing, but not necessarily 100% able. As William mentioned earlier, starting on Tuesday, we think my clutch has started going out. So with my car being sketchy to drive, we were glad that we had another car now...as long as we could make it to pick it up. We set out at about 2:30 in the afternoon to go into LA to pick up William's truck. If you don't know, there is always traffic on the freeways surrounding LA and at 2:30 in the afternoon, there is no exception. We took about an hour to get to the Dependable Auto Shippers terminal. We waited for a few minutes and they brought William's truck around. We had decided that I would drive William's truck since my car wasn't working up to par. Now, you must know, in previous occassions, while driving William's truck, it has just turned off in the middle of an interstate several times on me. It never seems to happen while William is driving, but it seems to do it while I'm driving. Even though I knew this was a possibility, I decided to drive the truck anyway. After about 30 minutes in stop and go traffic, I was doing alright. However, once the traffic started to clear, and we were able to go faster, the truck decided to turn off. The first time, I was able to put it into neutral and restart it without stopping completely. The second time, it wasn't as easy. I had to make a complete stop in the middle of the 405 freeway with the exit for UCLA and Sunset Blvd in sight, in rush hour traffic to restart the truck. I got it started and made it about 6 more miles to the 118 freeway toward Simi Valley. Ok, I can do this...the sign says 13 miles to Simi Valley, and we're doing ok. Not! It died again, but I could start it in neutral. I made it a couple of miles and hot damn! it died again. This time I had to pull over to restart it. It took several tries for it to restart. Perfect. I kept my cool though and kept going without freaking out too much. I did get a little annoyed at the sportscars zooming in and out of my lane (the slow lane), but what could I do? So I made it to our exit where the truck decided to die 3, yes 3 times while trying to go through one red light! I mean really?! Now I was cussing. I was like 100 feet from our hotel and I couldn't go anywhere. I finally got it started and was able to make it, puttering through the parking lot, to the hotel. So much for a more reliable car! However, William made it back in my car with no problems. So now we've got to get both cars fixed along with find a place to live that is reasonable. What fun California has been so far!
