One Down, One to Go (and not in a good way)

"What is down?" you may ask. The answer: Sally Sentra, aka my car. We got up this morning and got ready for church as usual (well can you say "as usual" if it's technically only the second time we've done it here? oh well), and went outside to head to church. We got in my car, which we have been driving ever since the problems occurred with William's truck, and tried to crank the engine. Pop! Something snapped, and we weren't going anywhere! William jiggled the clutch around and popped open the hood to check the clutch to see what the problem was, and as best he could tell, it was the clutch cable that had snapped. Well we were thankful that it happened before we even left the parking spot that we were in, and not out on the road, but now we were down one car. We drove around all day yesterday looking at different apartments and such and thankfully nothing happened while we were out (even though, thanks to mom and dad, we do have AAA!). So anyway, that car is out for now (that would be the one down), so we must rely on the unreliable truck (which would be the one to go because by the looks of it, it is definitely going). We made it to church without any problems of it dying or anything (Praise the Lord!), and William thinks he may know what the problem is with the truck now, but we shall see as he actually works on it. Ironically enough, the title of the sermon this morning was "When Your Soul Stalls in Heavy Traffic." That was quite fitting for what we've been experiencing this past week with both of our vehicles having trouble. It gives us a good analogy of experiencing spiritual trouble and discouragement, having experienced physical trouble and discouragement.  However, on the bright side, we did make it to church and were able to see our friends again and meet some new people as well. We also went to the "supper" that they had after church in the "upper room." Also known as a potluck lunch in the fellowship hall for those of you back home! It was definitely different than a "southern fried" potluck because of the different varieties of the ethnicity of the foods, but the food as well as the fellowship was good. We made it back to the hotel safely without any problems as well, so we will see what happens next. In closing, I would like to point out yet again, that William was driving the truck this time, not me, so of course we made it ok without it stalling. It only dies when I drive it. So not cool! Anyway, there will be more to come on the Ventures of Vehicle Vexation in the Valley of Ventura county.
