F*R*I*E*N*D*S
Well believe it or not, we actually had a night out on the town our first real weekend here, with other people! Last Sunday we went to Valley Presbyterian Church in North Hills, about 15 minutes from Simi Valley. We were invited to a Young Adult bible study that night at a couple's house. Dan Kaiser is the leader of the group so we met at his and his wife Patty's home on Sunday night for fellowship. The group consisted of 2 newlywed couples and a few single guys. We exchanged phone numbers with the other couples and briefly talked about getting together sometime this week. The two couples are Dave and Kathy McGuire and Audrey and Zack Zoschke. They are all from this area of the country. Zack and Audrey have lived in the LA area their whole lives and Dave and Kathy are from Washington state. They are all a little bit older than us, but we've been married longer so that evens out our maturity levels (haha!). Anyway, Audrey called me Friday morning to invite us to go out to dinner with them and the McGuires. Well, let me check my busy schedule: 2pm walk Molly, 3pm workout and shower, 5pm wait for William to get home...I don't know if I can....yep schedule's free! We drove to Glendale, about 30 minutes from Simi, closer to LA to Dave and Kathy's condo. We hung out at their condo for a little while and then once Audrey and Zack got there we decided to walk around until we found a place that we wanted to eat. Glendale is set up basically like a typical downtown area where most anything is in walking distance. We ended up going to BJ's Pizza where we enjoyed some yummy pizza and a huge cookie pizza topped with ice cream! We really enjoyed getting to know these two couples and also learning about more things that we can do around here as well as talking to Audrey about various jobs that I could do as a photographer. She works at Universal Studios sewing costumes and does freelance work on the side for various companies like Mattel and said that they are always looking for photographers..what fun! After dinner we walked around the Americana, the outside mall in the area, which was really nice and just a cute area. All in all it was a great night and felt really good that we actually know some people here now.

I'll look forward to meeting them when I come visit...they can tell you all of the cool places to take me when I come..
