Santa Barbara

So...Like I mentioned in our last post, we went over to Santa Barbara for the day yesterday. We left a little after lunch time and got there in about an hour. We drove around for a bit to find a place to park and to figure out what we wanted to do first. We decided to walk down the wharf (or pier) that had several restaurants and other shops on it. The weather was great and we enjoyed just strolling along and looking at all of the boats in the harbor across the way a bit. Here are some pics of the pier:

The Santa Barbara Harbor is in the background.
After we walked for a bit, we decided it would be fun to have a little adventure and take a trip on a pirate ship! oo scary! Pirates! And this was what the pirate ship cruise consisted of:
This was our grand Pirate ship!

The first stop..the Santa Barbara Sea Lions. (Yep there were only 3 of them, and they were just lounging on some buoy thing ha!)
And the pelicans sitting out on a floating piece of something.

Even though it wasn't like sailing on the Black Pearl with Jack Sparrow, it was fun to get to ride on the water for a little while. It was worth our $5 that we spent to ride.
After that, we went back to the car and got our snacks and beach chairs that we had brought with us and went out and sat on the beach and relaxed for a little while. We read and visited and people watched on the beach for about an hour. We decided we would have an early dinner so that we wouldn't be too terribly late getting back home to Molly Bear. So, we strolled back down the wharf to look at all of our options of restaurants. We settled on one called Longboards where we could sit outside above the water and watch the sunset as we ate dinner. We both had Mahi sandwiches and got a 1/2 pound (or so they say) chocolate chip cookie with ice cream for dessert. It was all really good and we did get to see the sunset behind the mountains over the water. (crazy, I know!) I'd say it was a little bit different of an experience than it was driving an hour to go to Tupelo for dinner from Starkville. We got back around 8:30 that night and had a good time just chilling out and watching a movie after our fun day in Santa Barbara.
