Don't Freak Out

So up until last week, we have felt very safe in our apartment complex. The neighbors are friendly and quiet. We haven't seen any police cars or anything of the sort in our neighborhood. Things have been good. But then something happened. I had gone to the grocery store to get a few things one afternoon last week. When I got back to our apartment I noticed that there were pieces of paper stuck to everyone's doors. I get up to our door and see that it is a note from the complex's manager, Susan. The note read something like this:

"The safety of our residents is very important to us here at Creekside Apartments. We strive to keep the entire complex free from crime, blah blah blah. However, we would like to inform you of an incident that has occurred within the complex. Blah, blah. Last night a body of a deceased man was found in one of the dumpsters on the premises. The man was not a resident here, but had been seen walking around the complex a few days prior. Blah, blah. The police investigated and said that there was no foul play involved in the death of the man. blah. We will keep you updated on any further information that we receive. Blah, blah, blah." 

Um EXCUSE ME? A dead body? In one of our dumpsters? This is no normal thing to get in a note on your door! And um, how is there no foul play when a body is found in a stinking dumpster? I mean did the man just crawl in there and die? I think not. So all of this to say, we've been a little shaken up by this incident. William is wanting to invent things like a taser gun you can wear on your palm without someone knowing and stuff. Our friends are trying to figure out ways that someone could end up in a dumpster with no foul play. This is definite motivation to start saving like mad for a down payment for a house. But, anyway, just thought you might want to be informed as well about the goings on in our apartment complex. We don't really feel threatened, are just more alert when walking around outside!
