Family Fall Festival

Valley Pres (our church) had a family fall festival at the Taylor's ranch in Acton, CA on Sunday. I was asked to be the photographer for the event so that each family that came could have their picture taken together. We drove about an hour to get to Acton (in the middle of nowhere CA if you can imagine) and showed up at about 3 in the afternoon. I took the family portraits and had a good time getting to meet a lot of the families that we hadn't met yet. We had chili for dinner with cornbread and salad and lots of yummy desserts. They had a scavenger hunt all planned out (our team got 3rd place). After dinner we did a little bit of singer around a campfire and just hung out for a bit. It was freezing outside though and sooo windy, that even the fire wasn't much help for warmth. I think it got down to like 38 or something ridiculous, then again, we were on a mountain! We had a great time getting to fellowship with most of the families in the church and I was glad that I could use my skills to help out!

As a side note..I kept asking if people had or wanted to have their picture "made," but I kept getting funny looks and people were like "made? what do you mean?" Uh is that really that strange of a question? I was like "what else would you say?" and of course they said "have your picture taken." Well correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you can use either word - made or taken - and it makes the same
amount of sense.

Here's a pic of us freezing at the festival:
