This and That

This past weekend we drove 20 hours in a 48 hour span. Phew! We went to Tucson to see Michelle and Greg (William's sister and bro-in-law). Thursday night I had a really fun girls' night at our apartment that didn't end until almost midnight. William had to fix the thermometer in the wagon because it was leaking (or linking as Em would say) coolant. He had a deacon's meeting Thursday night and wasn't able to finish working on the car until after that (late night!). Lastly, Arden had had an upset stomach and had a really bad diaper rash that was really painful for the little guy and wouldn't be too fun sitting in a car for 10 hours straight. SO, we debated back and forth on whether or not we would actually make it, but we got up Friday morning and were determined to get there! We left Simi around 11:30am and got to Tucson around 9 that night. It was a long drive, but Arden and Molly and the car all did great! We just visited for a bit before going to sleep because we were exhausted after a long day and lack of sleep the night before. Saturday morning Michelle and I went to a Zumba class at a workout studio that she goes to regularly. It was a lot more fun than the videos that I have. We went back to their house for lunch and to wait for Paul to get in town from Yuma. That afternoon we went downtown to see an Andy Warhol exhibit and then out to dinner for some yummy (and fairly healthy) Mexican. After getting Arden to bed that night, we hung out in the hot tub. After Michelle and Greg went to bed, we stayed up and talked and played Wii with Paul for a while. Sunday morning we grabbed a quick breafast with them and then headed home for another 10 hour drive. On the way home, after stopping at several truck stops, I told William, "I may not be the hottest girl in the world, but I am definitely the prettiest one at those truck stops." He agreed and we had a good laugh. Arden started getting a little fussy right before we got home, so William and I played our favorite traveling game - Boingy - to keep him entertained. If you recall from our trips back and forth between Memphis and Starkville, the game is played by seeing who can say Boingy over and over again the longest. However, this time we mixed it up a bit and went through the alphabet taking turns saying words over and over for Arden. He was entertained and we were too. I didn't get any pics from the weekend, but just trust that we had a good time!
.
In other news, my ankle injury from our hike is pretty much all healed, and I was able to get back to my running this week. I don't know if I mentioned it before or not, but I am training for a half marathon in November, so I was pretty bummed that I hurt my ankle. However, it healed faster than I thought it would, so I'm good to go for now!

Arden is all over the place these days and is a pro at pulling up and getting back down and crawling anywhere his little heart desires. His favorite things to get into are Molly's food/water bowls, the bookshelf in our bedroom, my red sticks in our living room, and the key bowl - none of which are exactly kid friendly things. He still LOVES taking baths and will crawl to the tub as soon as the water turns on when it's bath time. He is excited every time his daddy walks in the door from work and whenever I go in to get him from naps. Molly Bear is dealing with him crawling around and is a sweet sister. He has a total of 6 teeth now (4 on the top, 2 bottom). We started brushing his teeth a little while ago and he loves to bite the brush and eat the toothpaste. He still loves his bottles and his paci (but only at naptime) and is trying to get used to sippy cups. I really hate that the family is missing this time because he is really fun to play with and it's fun to watch him figure things out. Anyway, here are a few pics from the past couple weeks. (I got a new lens that I'm super pumped about!)
