Here is the last day gown that I just finished. It is a cute green micro gingham fabric with smocked ducks at the top and it buttons in the back. I think it is my favorite one so far! The ducks aren't perfect but since this was my first attempt at smocking an actual figure, I'm ok with it! Baby Boy is going to be cute!

I love you but how do you not consider this a dress?
Ok i'll admit and I already told this to William, but this one does look the most like a dress and if I ever do have a little girl, I'll put more buttons in the back (there are only 3 right now) and have her wear it as a dress. But still....I'm still claiming it's a "day gown."
Oh, so cute, Lora!!! Love all the dresses you've made, and yes, it is a "day gown." ha! I'm debating with Matt right now about bonnets-I love them, and they make them for baby boys, too. I've learned the key to making bonnets sound more manly is to call them a "cap." ha!
love this one too! and, to reinforce the southern tradition...day gowns were made for boys and girls b/c parents did not want their babies crawling or walking early and the long gowns helped prevent that. Quite the opposite these days when we parents push our kids to do everything early, eh?

Looks good! I can't wait till I can see little Frank Jr. all dolled up!! Too bad that when he comes to see his Aunt Frank that she won't have a baby pig for him to play with because of the dad-gum non-existent swine-flu! Psh. Honk-sh-mmm-whoa-phft-ahhh.
