Simi Valley Tree Lighting SPECTACULAR

Last weekend William and I met our new friends, Zach and Anna, and their 10 month old son, Owen, at the Simi Valley Towne Center for a night of spectacular excitement. The town center is basically an outdoor mall that sets up a huge Christmas tree in the center court each year, and apparently, there is a performance for the first lighting of it. I had found out about this exciting event in the newspaper and was set on going, even though it was before Thanksgiving and we would be breaking the "no Christmas stuff before Thanksgiving" rule. We decided to invite Anna and Zach along as well for a fun filled night. We decided to just meet at the town center, expecting a small crowd of people, and much to our surprise the place was PACKED. It was almost impossible to find a parking spot and then even more difficult to find a place to stand where we could see the tree. There was live music and dancers and elves on stilts and a laser light show and snow (fake of course...I mean we are in Southern California) and Santa and then drumroll please....the tree lit up! It was almost anticlimactic, but the lit tree did not disappoint and was in fact, spectacular! We hung around for a little while afterwards and listened to more of the music before heading home for bed (for Arden at least). It was so fun and festive and even though we broke a rule, it was worth it!

Well you move off to California and break all the rules!! I guess it's not as bad as Frank listening to Christmas music all year. The good part is you got to wear your new red jacket! Cute!
