Desert, Schmesert

This past weekend William and I made a trek over to Tucson, AZ to visit William's sister (Michelle), brother in law (Greg), mother (Joyce), and grandmother (Mammaw). His mom and Mammaw had flown in from MS on Thursday and we had decided to drive over to see them while they were on our side of the country. We left Simi on Friday at 2:20 in the afternoon and set out for the what should have been an 8 hour drive to Tucson. Well, almost 13 hours later, we finally arrived at about 3am! We sat in LA traffic for over four hours! It was NOT fun. I sporadically made William yell out "This is STUPID!" just for kicks throughout the time we were sitting there. Molly Bear was along for the ride as well and we were all glad to be out of the car when we finally got to Michelle's house.
A couple of weeks ago, Michelle had William's Corvette shipped out to Tucson so that she could drive it and try to help us sell it. It had a few things that needed to be worked on, so William had planned on working on that the majority of the weekend. He got to work on that Saturday morning while Michelle, Joyce, Mammaw and I went to get manicures and pedicures and then to lunch. It was a relaxing day but I was still tired from only getting about 4 hours of sleep. We spent the rest of the afternoon around the house just relaxing. Saturday night we went to a Murder Mystery Dinner Theater. It was ridiculously cheesy, but it was entertaining, and we had a good time. At the end, they passed out forms where you had to guess who you thought the murderer was. I guessed correctly and was then chosen to win a 3 day/2 night vacation to one of 500 exciting locations! We haven't looked into it much, but I think we might use that to go on a mini "babymoon" before the little guy gets here.
We left on Sunday after lunch and got back around 11pm that night. It only took 9 hours this time around, but it was still quite a long drive. Overall, the weekend was good and it was good to visit with William's family, especially since we were able to avoid another trip to the Desert Museum!

I'm almost completely well from my sickness. I just have a slight cough that is still lingering, but I'm feeling much better now. This week is pretty laid back, without much going on, which is nice. I'm just starting to get ready for my trip home to Memphis and I'm getting really excited about seeing everybody really soon!
