While I have a minute...

Our lives are incredibly busy right now, but I haven't posted in over 2 months so I thought I'd catch you up real quick! (Ha, as if I could do a short post....I'll try not to ramble too much, but bear with me!)

Anyway, we enjoyed a fun visit from Missy and Pop way back in March. They got here just in time for us to finish up the stomach bug and we just hoped that we wouldn't pass it along to them! (Thankfully, we did not!) We played and went to the park for a picnic and hung around our house and got lots of frozen yogurt and ate some good food and just had a fun time with them being here. Dad helped William with his Corvette and had the idea to build us some shelves for our garage. Of course the idea didn't come up until their last day here, so it was a busy day of sawing and drilling and building for Dad and William. We had a great time while they were here and are looking forward to them coming back in June/July!
Always get fun surprises from Missy!

 Pop made Porter an airplane!

Bob Vila came to work on our garage!

In April, Arden started going to a little preschool class through California's First Five program. We go once a week and learn a letter and do some crafts and sing some songs. He enjoys it and it is good practice for real school. Gotta ease into it, ya know?

We went to Underwood Family Farms with some friends one day in April. We enjoyed seeing all the farm animals, going down the big combine harvester slide, jumping in a bouncy house, riding a pony, and picking some strawberries. It was a fun day and Porter got really excited about all of the animals and making their sounds.
Baby Elijah has to go with us everywhere too!

Gobbler, Gobbler, turkey in the pot....

Cuties...

I got to go to Ojai with some friends for the day for my friend, Courtney's, birthday celebration. We went to lunch and then did wine tasting and then got dessert. It was a really fun day hanging with the girls and I hope we can do it again sometime soon!

Arden went to his first dentist check up in April. He did such a good job sitting still and letting the hygienist do her job. He loved the spinny toothbrush thing and getting to pick his flavor of toothpaste. He had some cavities (Yikes!) so we are going to go to a pediatric dentist to see what we need to do about those.

Gotta keep that smile healthy!

William had a friend from college, Trevor, come in town for a weekend. He was hoping to get an interview at William's company, but that didn't work out. They had a great time anyway, doing all sorts of boy things - beer, racecars, carting, etc. William was glad to get to see Trevor and we enjoyed having a visitor in town as well.

We've had a few other random things that we've done for fun here and there....
Went to see "Fifi" the last flying plane of its type

Got our annual pool for the patio

Have had a few lazy days at home here and there...

There's always time for some cuddling and playing with our neighbor, Sophia!

Celebrated Mother's Day!

Now for the biggest, most craziest of things going on - we are moving! We had been talking for some time now how much we need a yard. With Molly and two energetic boys, we just need some outside space for them to run around without my constant supervision. Our little driveway has been decent, but we are always having to watch for cars and stay out of the way. Our patio has allowed some pool action, but there's no wiggle room. SO we started running the numbers and praying about what we should do and began to see that it just might be possible to buy a house if we could make a profit on our townhome. We met with our realtor on April 13th and that night decided we would go for it and put our house on the market and just see how what happened. We bought our house for $275k in 2010 and were asking $310k in hopes of a decent profit margin. We started getting calls at 7:45am Sunday, April 14th for people to come see our house. We got calls all day that day and had about 9 people come see it. We had about 8 or so come the next day and a couple the next. By Wednesday, we had accepted an offer of $340k! We knew we probably wouldn't get an appraisal that high, but it was a great offer....or so we thought. By Thursday our realtor had discovered some fraud going on with their pre-approval letter, so we backed out of that deal. The house was back on the market and after many more showings, and 8 more offers, we accepted another offer on Sunday - 1 week after it being on the market! The offer was for $320k and they would pay up to $7500 cash if the appraisal came in low. Well the appraisal was right at $320k, so it is all working out very smoothly! We will be renting a condo in Moorpark from a co-worker while we shop for a house! So we get to move all of our junk twice! Yay!
I have been making trips back and forth this weekend and will be doing it the rest of the week in hopes of having all of the small stuff moved by Saturday. We will rent a truck on Saturday and get all the big stuff. We'll clean on Monday and then the closing day is  Wednesday! All the while, William is trying to get his Corvette put back together on top of being super busy at work. It is a whirlwind and like I said, we are crazy busy, but it's all for a good reason! We get to have a yard!! Woohoo!

Ready to be moved!

Anyway, I probably won't be back until we are moved in, but we are looking forward to our 6 year anniversary on May 19th, a visit from my parents on June 28th, Arden's 4th birthday on June 30th, William and I leaving for Mexico (Isla Mujeres) for his sister's wedding on July 2nd through the 9th (my parents will stay with the boys), seeing my sister, Anna, who will be here when we get back, my birthday on July 18th and then I'm in charge of VBS for our church starting July 21st! Tired yet? I am! So, hopefully I'll be back soon, but if not, you can know that I'm not just sitting around twiddling my thumbs!

"Now back to work, do you understand?!"

What I'll be looking like at dinner tonight!
