The Birthday Extravaganza

Arden had been talking about it for MONTHS! Everything that he saw in a store or on a show or at a friend's house that he liked, he wanted for it. The invitations were picked -monster trucks, of course. The decorations were put up - more monster trucks.

The favor bags were filled - yet again, more monster trucks.

And, the entertainment was reserved - a pony, of course!

(Even Molly Bear was pretty excited about the pony)

The day of the show, y'all, was finally here! It was BIRTHDAY PARTY DAY at the Lott house and we were all excited!

We had Arden's party on June 23rd (a week early) so that his best friend, Owen, could be here for it. (Owen's family just moved to North Carolina and we miss them terribly already! BUT he was here for the party!) We invited lots of friends and had lots of fun planned! The main entertainment was yes, a pony. We were "those people" who got their 3 year old a pony to ride at his birthday party. Ridiculous? One might think, however, it was one of William's co-worker's, and she offered to do the party for a super discounted price, so we thought why not, right?!

Anyway, we started the party with pony rides for everyone. While they were waiting their turn, we played in our playground area with water balloons.

After the water balloons, William led a few games of Simon Says and Red Light, Green Light. The kids seemed to have a great time with the games, and I know Arden had a blast just running around with all of his friends.

Porter enjoyed the festivities too!

Twinkies!

After the games, we brought out our big basket of cars and trucks to play with until it was lunch time. We ordered pizza for everyone and had a few snacks on the side for lunch. After lunch was cake time. I had made a monster truck cake, naturally, and it was a hit!

Each kid had to tell me just which piece of the truck that they wanted. After cake and ice cream we opened presents and played around for a little more before the party was over.

Oh Boy!

There were about 16 kids plus parents here, but it was the smoothest party we've ever thrown! I was so worried that it would be super chaotic and crazy, but it was a lot of fun and the kids had a lot of fun together...and I'm pretty sure it left Arden wanting nothing more for "his party."
