After trying on my wedding dress that morning just for kicks (no, it doesn't fit! Boo breastfeeding boobs!), we started the day with a fun family outing to the Porter Ranch Sanitation Department. They have an annual open house where you can go and sit in the garbage trucks and check everything out, so naturally, we were there! Not exactly something I would have found exciting 5 years ago on that day, but after 2 boys, your idea of "fun and exciting" changes!
There was the "Garbage, Recycling, or Yard Clippings" Toss
with prizes to be won! A new blue garbage can!!!!!!
Pretty excited!
Waiting in line for the garbage truck
Porter was just happy to be outside
So fun!
Checking things out, pushing buttons, etc.
White trash?
Brothers!!
After getting home and taking naps, Anna and David Quinn came over to stay the night with the boys while William and I headed for Ventura to celebrate our anniversary. We checked into our hotel and headed for the beach. We were staying right by the beach and a block away from downtown, so we were able to walk everywhere we went while we were there. We walked around a little art gallery before going to sit on the beach and just relax all by ourselves for a little while. After that, we went back to the hotel to freshen up before heading out to find a place for dinner. We walked up and down Main St. and chose a place called Anacapa Brewing Co.. William was pretty excited to try the beer and the food sounded really good to both of us, so we were excited. We were not disappointed and enjoyed a long dinner together without any interruptions or having to tell someone to stay in their seats and take another bite! It was very relaxing and fun to reflect on the last 5 years as a couple. After getting some ice cream and walking around a little more, we headed back to the hotel. Unfortunately, we didn't get the best night's sleep that we were hoping for because of a clicking A/C unit, a sore ear, overflowing milk ducts, and a blaring alarm of Mexican music at 6:20am, but it was nice to be away and to spend time with each other anyway! Ha!
Relaxing on the beach!
I love that guy!

I'm sorry, but the outing at the Porter Ranch Sanitation Department annual open house is HYSTERICAL! I hadn't heard about that one, but the whole idea of it is too, too funny!!! I mean, really? :)
