Lord, Help Me!

After noticing an interest in nipples (Thanks to me nursing all the time, I'm sure) and the request to undress a Barbie so that he could see her nipples, I decided it was time to explain the concept of private parts to Arden today. While attempting to do so, he leaned over with a sly smile and very quietly said "Aunta has nipples and Emmy has nipples, and Pop has nipples and a tee tee." Well that conversation was a success, eh?

In other news, Porter is 5 months old today! Holy Cow! He is wearing 9 month size clothes and growing like a weed. He started eating cereal a couple of weeks ago and is starting to like it more and more. He eats 1 or 2 bowls a day, but still loves to nurse. He sleeps about 7 hours at night. He goes to bed at 7ish, I feed him around 11 and he sleeps until 6 or 6:30, when I feed him and put him back down for another hour or hour and half.  He is the sweetest, smiley-est baby on the block. His smile involves opening his mouth as wide as possible and smiling at the same time. I love it! He can roll over from front to back and back to front. He loves playing with his feet and any toy that is within reach. We thought he was getting a tooth, but I'm not so sure..we'll see. He loves watching Arden and thinks he is too funny. He is only unhappy if he gets sleepy and is not put down in his bed immediately. He sleeps really well for naps and is always so happy when he wakes up. I really could not ask for a happier, easier baby! I love him so much and need him to slow down on the growing just a tad bit!

Arden has joined the Simi Valley Police Force. He is Simi's newest Junior Deputy and all he had to do was ride his "motorcycle" down the street to qualify! (Ok, so we were on a walk and a police car drove past and whipped around and got out of his car (insert freak out moment: "ok, my dog is on a leash, I have a poop bag to pick it up, my son is wearing a helmet on his bike, we're walking on the sidewalk, I am not doing anything wrong, right?! Then why is this cop turning around and getting out of the car and walking over to my son....oh, he just wants to give us a sticker, ok, breathe!") and he gave Arden a sticker for being cute.)

Sweet badge, eh?

Arden is quite the talker these days and these are some of my favorite sayings - some of the words aren't quite correct, but we generally understand most of what he's saying:
"Uphind you" - Behind you
"Down-a-stairs" - Downstairs
"It's 7, 8 O'clock, Time to get up"
"What lurrr doing?"- What are you doing? For some reason, on some words y's sound like l's
"Daddy's blue car"
"I wanna ride my big motorkycle"
"Where go today?" - at night when we talk about what he did that day
"Please see your phong" aka phone
"Yes I am"
"What lurrr name?" - said to any stranger
"Little bit warm milk"
"Really big one" - used when asking for any sort of snack or milk or anything really, it's got to be a really big one
"Please watch show?"
"Please hold Porter?"
"JESUS LOVE ME SO!"- sung all day, everyday

There are many more, I'm sure, but of course I'm drawing a blank.

We went hiking with some friends (a co-worker and his family) this evening. It was fun, but way too windy and cold. Looking forward to more of that when it gets a little warmer.

I stayed up entirely too late this week working on Easter suits. I did the smocking and mom is doing the rest. They're going to be pretty stinking cute!

A Sneak Peek

I am helping throw a baby shower at church this week and have a lot of preparation to do for that. We are making 100 tissue paper puff balls to hang from the ceiling of our hideous fellowship hall. It's going to be a lot of work, but I think it's going to be super cute.

Anyway, I am super scatter brained right now, but that's what we've been up to recently. We've been enjoying some cooler weather, playing outside a lot, hanging out with friends some, playing around the house, going on walks, doing "school", and just "going along" as usual. It's a crazy life, but somebody's gotta live it!
