Lazy Days

We haven't had too much going on around here lately, but I still feel really busy. I am getting to the point in my pregnancy where it is getting harder to do everyday things, so that's probably why it feels like we've been doing more than we actually have. On the pregnancy front - I'll be 34 weeks on Monday, meaning 3 weeks until I'm considered full term and 6 weeks until my due date! Yikes! I'm ready to not be pregnant anymore, but not so much ready for a newborn in the house. Since I know you want to ask how I'm feeling (because apparently that's the only question that pregnant women are ever asked) - the answer is I'm ok. I'm pretty tired at the end of each day, it's hard for me to bend over, I am still nauseated when I wake up each morning, but haven't been throwing up much, I'm still sleeping fairly well, and I'm pretty much always hot. That's it in a nutshell. I'll probably feel exactly that way the rest of my pregnancy so feel free to ask me about other things than how I'm feeling. Thanks. :) We have a first name picked out for the baby but are still going back and forth on a couple of middle names, so we'll see what we decide and you'll just have to wait until he gets here to find out!

This was at 29 weeks so I'm even bigger now, but you get the idea...baby in belly. belly getting huge.

Arden is really turning into a little boy and barely has any baby left in him. He's a piece of work for sure! He's got the best personality and is so animated that William and I sometimes wonder where he came from. Yes, his mother can be loud, but he is something else and we love it! He's pretty much potty trained while he is awake. He still sleeps in diapers, but with the exception of an accident here and there, he is doing great with it and I am glad to have a short break from diapers!

 Sporting the big boy undies!

He is sleeping in a new, big bed (aka a twin mattress on the floor) and is doing great with that too! William is working on building an actual bed for him, but for now it's a step in the right direction. Arden has even learned not to get out of bed in the mornings and to wait until we get him up. I mean don't get me wrong...the "HI MOMMY" alarm clock walking into my room at 6:30 was cute a couple of times, but let's get serious...6:30am is too early for cute.

Most of our days are spent doing things around the house or going to the park or the grocery store, but every now and then we try to take an adventure. This week we did just that! We went with the Ashtons to the fire station to check out the big ole firetruck. I'm not sure which was more exciting - seeing Owen or seeing the firetruck - but let's just say we were a bit excited! We weren't the only ones who had the idea that day and there was actually a big group of kids touring the station too, but we did our own little thing and climbed on the truck and checked it all out. It was a fun little outing and I'm sure we'll go back and hopefully get to have a little more interaction with the firemen.

Just playing at the park

Owen and Arden discussing the importance of firemen, no doubt.

Other than that we're keeping busy doing other things. We're getting the boys' room ready for Baby Boy's arrival. Like I said, William is building a bed, along with some bookshelves and repainting the crib. I've made Arden's comforter and am working on some little paintings as well as some curtains. We're going to try to get a lot of it done over the long weekend, so I'll post pictures of that when it's done. I'm helping plan a Tea Party Baby Shower for next week and am excited that I'll get to use my china! We're making everyone wear fancy hats and calling the mom-to-be the Queen. It should be pretty fun. We still haven't put up the backsplash in our kitchen, but William hopes to get that done before the baby comes as well. Anyway, we're busy just doing our normal stuff, missing family and friends, and yes, Nana, we're still "going along."
