Have you noticed I'm over this whole blog thing?

Yeah I know it's been a really long time since I last blogged. I don't have any excuses other than the fact that I haven't felt like taking the time to put a post together. I'm over it. However, I'm not giving it up, so brace yourselves.....this is a long one....a "quick" overview of the past several months of our lives just for you.......
.
In April, Arden and I went to Memphis for a visit. We were there over Easter so we got to celebrate with my family. We definitely missed Daddy on this trip, but were glad to get to see Missy and Pop and the crew. I frantically finished Arden's Easter suit before going to Memphis and was pleased with the outcome. He was pretty pleased with himself in it as well.

In May we celebrated our 4th anniversary! On our actual anniversary, we listened to our wedding cd, looked at our wedding pictures and had "cake tops" that I had made to try to recreate our wedding cakes. It was fun looking back on that special day. I still say it was the best day of my life. (No offense to my child, but it beats giving birth even though that was a special day too). The next night we had a date night and had a picnic dinner at a park and then came back home to hang out with our friends who were babysitting.
.
William had a birthday on June 1st so of course we celebrated! We went out to lunch at a Mexican restaurant and then hung out for the afternoon (he took the afternoon off work!). I had ordered him some pirate cake pops from my aunt and they came in the mail right after lunch, which was perfect timing! I gave him his gifts and we rested before going out to dinner to PF Changs. We attempted to go to the beach after dinner, but it was way too cold (Crazy, right?! Too cold in June!) and windy to stay for long, so we just came back home and had a night in.
.
We had a Baby Gender Reveal Party with our friends, the Bajans, who are having a baby who is due 4 days after us! We revealed that we are having a baby boy! The Bajans are having a girl! So, we got to have both pink and blue desserts at our party. It was a lot of fun and a lot of our friends got to come. We saved the reveal for the end, each couple taking a turn to reveal if their dessert was pink or blue. We had people guess at the beginning of the party, what they thought we were each having and whoever guessed correctly got a prize. It was a fun party and exciting to share our news!

The Big Reveal

We just got back from another trip to Memphis - our last one before Baby Boy #2 arrives! We celebrated Arden's upcoming birthday with the family and a couple of friends. We went to the Children's Museum and the Memphis Zoo. We spent a lot of time playing outside in the terrible heat. We tried out the new playground at Shelby Farms. We mowed the grass. We swam in the kiddie pool in Missy and Pop's backyard. We went to Indianola and Jackson to visit William's family for a couple of days. We saw our friends and had fun playing with the family. We cried the entire last flight back home asking for Daddy (with the exception of a little sleeping). It was a great trip and I can't believe that the next time we are there, we will have 2 children! Yikes!

So that's about it - at least the highlights and what I can remember for now! Other than that, we've just been going for walks, going to the park, doing laundry, grocery shopping, exercising, and hanging around the house - you know, the usual. Arden tee teed in his potty this morning all on his own for the very first time. It was quite exciting for all of us! We had to call Daddy at work just to tell him the news! We'll be officially potty training quite soon, but for starters, we're doing pretty good! Tomorrow Arden turns 2, so I'll be posting what he is up to as a 2 year old!
