A few weeks ago William's dad made a visit out to see us. I got home from Memphis on a Tuesday, and he was coming on the Friday of the same week. Bear in mind now that we had just moved in a few days before I left for Memphis and I had told William not to unpack anything because I am OCD and wanted to do it all myself so that I could organize our house and know where everything was. SO I got home to a house full of boxes and random furniture all throughout the house, none of which was in the right place, and I had 2 days to get it all unpacked and ready for a visitor. Needless to say, I was a maniac for a couple of days and by the time that Dennis walked in our door (mind you I didn't go with William to pick him up from the airport because I was busy doing some last minute cleaning - aka the bathrooms) our house was in order and was clean!
We had a fun visit while he was here. He got in around 10 on Friday morning. We went to lunch at In-n-Out and then that afternoon he, Arden and William went for a short hike to fly William's glider while I stayed home and finished some things around the house. We went to dinner on Friday night and just hung out at home that evening. Saturday was "Bring your family to work at the hangar on Edwards Airforce Base where the plane that we've been working on is Day," so we got up that morning and headed for Lancaster for that. It was a fun day filled with bounce houses and taking pictures with the airplane (mind you, cameras were not allowed other than the pro's, so I didn't get to take any) and eating and visiting with co-workers. It was neat to get to see the big airplane that William has been working on and to visit with some of his co-workers who I enjoy seeing. After a long day there, we drove home and had a late dinner at home. Sunday we went to church and left Dennis home with a headache. But he felt better after a good nap and so we had some lunch and took naps ourselves during the afternoon. That night we were just sitting around and he asked if we had a Best Buy here and told us that he wanted to buy us a new TV. WHAT?! Um, ok! So we went to Best Buy and he got us a TV and some speakers for the TV. During the process William and I were freaking out just a little bit because this is not a purchase that we would ever make on our own, but it was exciting. I mentioned at one point that I'd rather just go get a new vanity for our bathroom than all this stuff, and Dennis replied with "Oh we'll go get a vanity too." WHAT?! Seriously? It was like Christmas and then some! So after Best Buy we went over to Lowe's and picked out a vanity. It was crazy. We came home and set up the TV and watched Cars (which Dennis also got because he wanted to watch it with Arden, who loved it). Monday morning we got up and went to the Ronald Reagan Library to tour the exhibits before Dennis had to get to the airport to go back home. We had a great visit with him and hope that he can make it out again sometime! Here are a few pics from his visit:
