Back in the Saddle Again

Please forgive my seemingly eternal absence from the blogosphere! We have had a SUPER busy summer and I have not had a moment to sit down and write about our lives. BUT, I'm here now, so here ya go!
We started June off with William's birthday on the 1st. We went on a little picnic in the park and had sushi and just played for a little while.
Next was our trip to Laguna Beach which you heard all about in my last post!
Then it was time for our trip to Memphis! I was going there to photograph a wedding so we made a vacation out of it and planned lots of fun things to do while we were there. I was preparing for the wedding the majority of the time, but we had plenty of time to see friends and family as well.
First impression of the airplane Pop made me...
...ok that's more like it!
Silly Frank took my paci!
Always teaching...

Frank and Aunta put me in the pot drawer!

Eating with Frank
Playing Missy's Piano
We got there on Father's Day so we got to celebrate with Pop! We had celebrated Father's Day with William the day before so that he wouldn't feel left out on his first real Father's Day!

Love me some Pop
One of our favorite activities - stairs!

Waiting with Maddie Pup for Mommy to get home
Monday is a blur, but we went to the zoo on Tuesday! We went with Aunta, Jamayla (one of Aunta's students) and Page Nored. The Californians were not used to the humidity, so we were smoking hot, but we had a good time anyway, seeing all of the animals. I also got to scope out the place where the reception was going to be on Friday.
Watching the seals "underwater"
Thursday was the rehearsal so I headed to the church to get a few practice shots in. William got in late that night so that he could be my assistant for the wedding. We just hung out at home with Aunta for a little while while everyone else was at the rehearsal dinner. Friday was the wedding and we were busy ALL day long doing the pictures, but we had a good time and it was fun to see all the IPC people. I definitely fell off a chair at the reception while trying to capture the sorority song (aka the quietest part of the evening), but I was ok, the camera was ok, and I got some good pics in the process. Just bruised my tailbone and my ego a bit!
(Arden was with Mimi at home)
Saturday morning we made a quick trip to Indianola to meet William's parents at Mammaw's house. We had lunch with them and played for a little while before the Lotts had to head back home. We hate that we don't get to see them more often, but we always enjoy our visits with them when we do!

Three Generations of Lott Men

That night we had Arden's birthday party at Missy and Pop's house!! It was a lot of fun seeing him play with the balloons and eat his organic, all-natural birthday cake! Lots of friends came and he got some fun presents too! (More to come on that in the next post!)
Cake Face
Sunday we went to church and then Anna, Emily and I made a quick trip to Nashville for a super fun concert! We went to dinner at a place called Urban Flats after shopping for a while at Urban Outfitters. Then we headed over to the concert, grabbed a couple of beers, and were ready for the show! It was a band called The New Pornographers and they were awesome! They are one of Anna's favorite bands and I must say that I haven't stopped listening to them ever since then as well. We went out for a bite to eat at a honky tonk bar after the concert before driving home. We had planned to stay with a friend over night, but decided to just drive back instead. We got home around 4:30am and went straight to bed. William was supposed to leave that morning and get home around noon, but after many delays, trips back and forth from the airport because of delays, and stops in random cities, he got home around 2am after trying to get home for 22 hours!
Tuesday we had a fun girls day with Mom and Mimi and Emily Gray all taking off work/school to hang out with me and Anna and Arden. After lunch at Paradise Cafe, Anna, Mimi, and I went and got pedicures (after round 1 of margaritas at home, of course). After that, we hung out at home for a little while, and then Em joined us for dinner at Memphis Pizza Cafe. After a stop at TCBY we went back home for a movie. It was a lot of fun getting to be with everybody for an entire day!

Would rather get down than pose with Missy
Wednesday was Arden's real birthday (I can't believe it's been a year already!) and also our last day in Memphis, so we headed to the airport mid-morning and got home late that afternoon. We had a great time and look forward to our next trip in a couple of months!
The Fam on his actual birthday
More to come SOON on the rest of our summer, but that should hold you over for now!
