Arden Takes a Trip

Well our trip to Memphis has come and gone in a flash! We had a great time getting to see everybody and miss being there already. We left last Monday the 8th and got back on the 16th. It was just enough time to feel like we got to really see everybody that we wanted to before we really started missing daddy. Arden did so well on the plane rides and I was so relieved. Monday morning I was definitely getting really nervous about flying alone with him, but he was perfect (of course!). We got in around midnight and headed to Missy and Pop's (my parent's) house. Arden went right back to sleep (he slept on the plane most of the way as well) and mom and I stayed up and chatted for a little while.
Tuesday was pretty low key. We ran a few errands in the afternoon and Mimi and Em and Emily Gray came over that night. We also went to meet Anna at her community group so that she could show Arden off to everyone. On Wednesday I went with my bff, Emily Gray, to get a spray tan and manicures and pedicures (a little ridiculous, yes, but so worth it). It was quite relaxing and good to be away from the babe for a little while.
Thursday I went over to Lindsey Coe's (Hughes) house for a little visit. We went for a walk and had lunch and just visited for awhile. She's having a baby boy in May and we can't wait to meet little Gardener! Thursday afternoon I went to see Emily Gray's school (she's in Paul Mitchell hair school right now). I definitely felt like I stood out like a sore thumb since I didn't have my hair all spiked and dyed. I asked her if she was embarassed to walk me around with my hair looking how it did...she said she wasn't, but I bet she was...maybe...just a little bit. Thursday night Anna spent the night at the rent's and we stayed up late talking about all the ins and outs of sorority life. (You see, William and I have gotten really into the show, Greek, and I can't say that I don't secretly wish I was in a sorority - SHOCKER- I know, but hey...who wouldn't want to get dressed really cute everyday, go to mixers every night and live in a house where everything is pink? - see you know you want to, too - can we start a mom's sorority?) Ok enough.

Mom, Anna, Em, Arden, Kate Brink, and I all went down to Starkville for the day on Friday. We met lots of other friends at City Bagel for a really long lunch and visit. The second group was an hour late so we were there much longer than expected, but it was still fun getting to visit with everyone. After lunch we went and walked around campus for a little while. I can't say it didn't feel weird pushing a stroller around my college campus. Something just didn't feel quite right as you can imagine! After lunch we took the babies back to Jean Turnage's house for a nap. My mom stayed with Arden while I met up with one of my best friends from college, Jamie Lucius. It was just like old times and so fun to get to hang out with her for a little while. We met everyone else at Bulldog Deli for dinner and then we headed back to Memphis soon after. It was such a fun trip and was so good to get to see everybody and meet some of their kids who I hadn't gotten to meet yet.

Hanging out by the bakery - "Don't worry, we used to go here."
Now from the left we've got Bubba, Bridgett, Brenda, Bonnie, Billy, Bobby, Ben, and little Harry Jr. (now he's ours)

Saturday Leah and Chaney and Mimi all came over to visit. We just hung out with them for a while and had lunch together. Sunday we went to church and got to see some more people and then just hung out at home that night with the fam.
On Monday Laura Fearnow and Emily Gray came over to hang out for a little while. We went up to ECS so that mom could show Arden off to all of her friends and coworkers and we got to see Bonnie Bingenheimer, which was so fun! That night Em and Mimi came over too (Emily Gray and mom were there too) and we all got Macaroni Grill for dinner and had fun just visiting. Mom took the day off on Tuesday so she could hang out with us for our last day there. I got to sleep in and after getting dressed and all packed up, it was time to head to the airport to come home! Our flights back were a little harder on Arden than the ones going, but even so, he did fine. We were really excited to see daddy and were welcomed home to a clean apartment and pretty flowers! It was a great trip and we can't wait until we get to go back in June!

This is what happens when Pop is asked to dress Arden!

Silly Pop.

Unfortunately I didn't take as many pictures as I wanted or as I thought I did, so there are no pictures of Missy, Frank, Uncle Stevie, Mimi, Leah, and basically everyone else that we saw. Oh well, next time we'll try harder!
