Well you might think that nothing too exciting has been going on with the Lotts this week. However, I would say that a couple of things that are exciting only to me have occurred. This past week Arden was able to ride in the seat of a shopping cart for the first time. This was very exciting for me because I didn't have to carry him or have his carseat take up the entire basket leaving no room for actual groceries. Also, we made a purchase of some new running shoes for me! This may not sound like that big of a deal, but I got REAL running shoes...like went to the store where they watch you run and look at your feet and all that stuff in order to fit you with the perfect pair...running shoes. Now, no more excuses to not go for a run. Well, actually, I can think of one more excuse but we are currently working on eliminating it...a jogging stroller. I'm going to try out our friends' to see if I like it so we have some idea of what to look for and then we'll get one from Craigslist.
.
This weekend we drove up to Fillmore in search of snow. We can see snow on some peaks around Simi Valley so we thought we'd try to get to it. William had talked to a co-worker about how to get to the snow, so he planned a route and we set out on our way. We drove for about an hour and a half (with Arden and Molly Bear along for the ride) and never found the snow. It was a beautiful drive through the mountains, but it was all green and not white. We ended up heading home disappointed (somewhat) but we had a good time just being together anyway, snow or not!
.
On Sunday, we had our annual congregational meeting at church where William was voted on to become a deacon! He, of course, passed and will be ordained on February 7th! I am really excited about this opportunity for him and our family to serve the church!
Anyway, like I said, probably not that exciting to you, but oh well, at least you get some pictures...
