Porter Charles Lott, A Child of the Covenant

At the ripe old age of 6 days, Porter was baptized. We wanted to have my parents be a part of it if at all possible, so I had asked our Pastor if we could have Porter baptized today, even though I wasn't even sure that he'd be born! Thankfully, he made it into the world in time, and we were able to go through with the baptism. We all got up, got dressed, and made it to church on time for the service. It was quite the accomplishment having a 6 day old baby, but I was so thankful that my parents got to be there and be a part of it all. (PS He slept through pretty much the entire baptism and barely made a peep, and I made it through the whole thing wearing heels!)

..."Yes, truly with all my heart."

Baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost

It is such a joy to know that God promises to take care of the children of believers and it is my prayer that one day Porter would come to know Jesus as his own savior and that he would look back and see God's work and grace in his life, even from the very beginning. Also, it is so encouraging to see the entire congregation of our church promising to help in raising Porter and in pointing him to Christ. Considering our families aren't out here, it is comforting to know that our church family is looking out for us and praying for us and teaching us and our children. What a blessing!
